Australian Gambling Law
Sports betting in Australia is regulated at the state and territory level, with a national framework under the Interactive Gambling Act (IGA) 2001. All major operators hold ACMA-compliant licences (typically from the Northern Territory).
What's legal: Sports betting, racing (horses, greyhounds, harness), and fantasy sports.
What's NOT legal: Online casino games (slots, table games, live dealer), in-play betting on US sports (Australian sports are exempt), and online poker. The IGA specifically prohibits these for Australian-based operators serving Australian customers.
No Credit Betting
Australia banned credit card betting in 2021. All deposits must come from debit cards, bank transfer, POLi, or PayID. This was a harm minimization measure and is strictly enforced.

- Cricket: Test matches, Big Bash — Bet365 has the deepest cricket markets.
- Soccer (A-League + EPL): Growing rapidly.
